In 1949, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) was founded on a vision, by parents who’d lost a son to acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Since then, LLS continues to push boundaries as we seek cutting edge treatments and cures and work to improve quality of life for patients and their families.
The deVilliers Circle is comprised of candidate teams who share our bold vision of a cancer-free future and showed outstanding achievement in their fundraising efforts.

Visionaries of the Year is a movement against cancer driven by a select group of individuals from different locations and walks of life, coming together for a greater purpose: a cancer-free world. Candidates in this philanthropic competition form and lead powerful fundraising teams that help find innovative ways of fueling the LLS Mission. With their teammates behind them, this exceptional group competes in honor of two local blood cancer survivors for the prestigious title of Visionary of the Year.
Patricia Fripp, the first Woman of the Year when the competition first ran, raising $30,000.
Man & Woman of the Year goes national, expanding to all LLS Regions across the US.
LLS initiates the “All Star” program for Man & Woman of the Year alumni to represent their local campaign nationally.
Do you know a tenacious changemaker who can envision a world without blood cancer?
Nominate them to become a Visionary of the Year candidate!
